Ubuntu is a complete Linux-based operating system, freely available with both community and professional support. It is developed by a large community and comes in either a liveCD or install version. With the liveCD, simply place the CD in your computer and reboot. Nothing is installed, simply allowing you to "test drive" the operating system. This and other GNU/Linux operating systems are available for download and purchase. The purchase price is often no more than shipping and blank CD-R cost. |
